‘Pure Congressional Mayhem!’ CNN’s Berman Puts a Stunning Postscript On Hunter Biden’s Capitol Hill Appearance

Hunter Biden’s appearance on Capitol Hill caused an all-out political and media frenzy, which CNN’s John Berman managed to encapsulate in a nutshell.

President Joe Biden’s son appeared before the House Oversight Committee on Wednesday as they were meeting to mark up the resolution to hold him in contempt of Congress. Hunter’s presence came as a surprise to reporters, and as the hearing played out, the committee plunged into chaos as the members bickered amongst themselves, and it ended up with Hunter walking out on Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) as she was about to rip into him.

After a prepared statement from Hunter’s attorney, Abbe Lowell, the two left the Capitol while ignoring a bombardment of questions from the media swarm. Berman watched all of this, and as he brought the feed back to CNN News Central, he reacted that “What you have been watching: pure congressional mayhem.”

“The House Oversight Committee was holding a hearing to find Hunter Biden in contempt of Congress for not agreeing to appear for a deposition,” Berman continued. “The thing is, Hunter Biden showed up at the hearing, apparently surprising all the Republicans including the committee chair and just set off a theatrical explosion.”
