Senator Tuberville Claims ‘Four or Five Senators… Didn’t Legally Win’ Their Elections
Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) alleged on Thursday that “four or five” of his colleagues were fraudulently elected to the Senate, but offered no evidence for his claim.
His remarks came a few hours before President Donald Trump was set to give a primetime address focusing at least in part on voter fraud, which Trump falsely claims cost him the 2020 election.
“We have very little election integrity,” said in an interview with Newsmax. “Zero in some states like California and New York, where they just blatantly cheat. You know, in California, if you even bring an ID to the polling place, they might put you in jail for bringing it. I mean, they hate voter ID. And so, we got to get it straight.”
Tuberville went on to say his constituents tell him they are worried that their votes are being diluted by “illegals” voting in elections. The senator then echoed Trump’s claims of election fraud in the 2020 election, before claiming some of his colleagues should not be in the Senate”
But if you look at what we have in terms of what happened in 2020, we know President Trump, they put the screws to him. You know, there’s no doubt. I’ve seen the evidence. The same thing with, we probably have four or five senators that didn’t legally win. They shouldn’t be up here. And it’s just unfortunate that that’s happened. But again, slowly the information is coming out. I think you’ll hear more tonight from President Trump. I don’t know exactly what he’s going to talk about.
The senator did not elaborate further.
In February, Tuberville made a similar claim when he said, “There’s a half a dozen people, whether it’s the House or Senate that are up here as we speak that did not get elected. It was all bogus because we’ve seen the evidence.”
The senator did not elaborate on which members of Congress he believes were elected fraudulently, nor did he elaborate on the “evidence’ he spoke of.
In his State of the Union address, Trump alleged that Democrats can only win elections by cheating.
