SNL Lampoons Mayor Rob Ford and 60 Minutes During Cold Open

To open Saturday night’s Lady Gaga-hosted episode of Saturday Night Live, embattled Toronto Mayor Rob Ford was the subject of a cold open sketch that featured Ford attempting to rehabilitate his image with improved headshots, press conference clips in which he spews profanity (so, pretty much what he’s actually been doing), and buying crack onstage. The kicker to the bit was a devastating shot at another controversial news subject, as Ford goes on the only show “where people do believe me, and will believe anything I say”: CBS’ 60 Minutes.
