Tapper Dryly Reacts to Kayla Moore’s ‘Jew’ Attorney Line: ‘Quite the Bumper Sticker There’
On the night of Alabama’s special election, Jake Tapper dryly reviewed GOP candidate Roy Moore campaign’s bizarre antics — including, but not limited to, his wife deflecting antisemitism accusations by saying they have a “Jew” attorney and granting an interview to a 12-year-old girl, despite his status as an alleged child molester.
The Lead host played a clip of Kayla Moore saying, “Fake news would tell you that we don’t care for Jews. I tell you all this because I’ve seen it all and I just want to set the record straight while they’re all here.”
“That’s quite the bumper-sticker there,” responded Tapper.
As for the numerous allegations of predatory behavior and sexual misconduct that have been leveled against Moore, Tapper mocked the campaign for their choice of optics when it came to allowing a 12-year-old female Moore-supporter to pitch a softball interview to the former Alabama Supreme Court justice.
“Yeah, 12 is really young. 14, too,” snarked Tapper — referencing the then-age of Moore’s youngest accuser Leigh Corfman who alleges the Senate candidate made sexual advances on her when she was a teenager and he was in his 30s.
The CNN host also quipped about Moore’s choice of transportation to his polling booth.
“Here is the former Alabama Supreme Court justice galloping towards his polling place on the back of trustee steed, [a horse named] Sassy — which also happens to be the name of a magazine aimed at teenage girls in the late ’80s,” said the reporter.
