Trump Nemesis Adam Kinzinger Praises Karoline Leavitt for Her ‘Classy’ Way of Denying ‘Obvious Truth’ 

Former Rep. Adam Kinzinger offered some strange praise for outgoing White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt.

President Donald Trump announced on Wednesday that Leavitt, who gave birth to her second child in May, will depart her role to spend more time with her family.

“Karoline has been a real leader in the White House, and has done a phenomenal job fighting for Justice, Liberty, and Freedom, since 2018, including our Historic Re-Election Campaign of 2024,” the president wrote on Truth Social. “Karoline has been one of the best White House Press Secretaries in the History of the Office. Thank you, Karoline, for a job well done!”

Hours later on CNN’s The Source, Kinzinger, a former Republican who became a staunch Trump critic in his last term in Congress, said Leavitt had done an “impressive” job because of her ability to “obfuscate” the “obvious truth.”

“She was very good at her job,” Kinzinger said. “She is very good at her job, very impressive. I think it takes a toll having to defend this president all the time. And so, I have no doubt her story that like, look, when you’re a mom and you have kids, working in the White House is very difficult on that. So, I don’t think there’s anything more to the story besides that.”

The former lawmaker then went on to tell host Kaitlan Collins that Leavitt had a classy way of lying to her.

“Even in a couple of your clips, you’re like saying obvious truth, and she’ll just kind of look at it like, obfuscate. ‘That’s not true,'” Kinzinger stated. “She had a classy way to do it. So I think it’s gonna be a hit for the administration.”

As of Wednesday, it was not clear who would succeed Leavitt. Mike Dubke, who served as White House Communications Director during Trump’s first term, was surprised at the timing of Leavitt’s departure.

“I’m very surprised by it,” Dubke said on CNN, “Because generally when you have a transition from press secretary to the other, you’ve got somebody waiting in the wings or maybe a deputy that can step in.
