Trump Says RFK Jr. Will Be Empowered to Do ‘What He Wants’ on Health in His Administration

Former President Donald Trump said that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. will be empowered to “do what he wants” as far as health is concerned during a Trump administration.

While speaking to reporters from Palm Beach, Florida on Election Day, Trump was asked to clarify what Kennedy’s role would be in his administration. Kennedy has said Trump wants him to “reorganize” multiple health agencies, but it’s been unclear whether Kennedy would end up as the head of an agency like Health and Human Services or whether he would be an advisor.

There’s been concern about Kennedy’s potential role among critics due to the once-independent presidential candidate’s vaccine skepticism.

Trump said Kennedy will basically do what he wants, but he’ll be sure to keep the environmentalist and former Democrat away from oil.

“Let me tell you, he is a great guy, RFK, and he’s going to do pretty much what he wants, as I’m concerned. He wants health for women, for men, for children. I happen to agree with a lot of the things he says. The one thing I told him and I’ve told you in speeches the last two weeks, we got to keep him away from the liquid gold — called oil and gas. That one I’m going handle,” Trump said.

He did not name a specific role for Kennedy, but said he’d be “honored” to have him as part of the administration, calling him “popular” and saying crowds go “wild” for him at MAGA rallies.

“I’d be honored to have him. Look, if you think of it, he came in third, you know. Running for president, right? He ran a very good race. He had obstacles,” Trump said. “The Democrats just really unfairly put obstacles up and hence a Kennedy left the Democrat Party for the Republicans. He is a very smart guy.”
