‘Who Is This Guy?!’ Trump Adviser Loses It on ‘Biased’ Reporter

White House trade adviser Peter Navarro lashed out at a reporter who inquired about the Trump administration’s repeated attacks on judges who rule against it.

On Wednesday, President Donald Trump was dealt a temporary blow when a three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of International Trade unanimously ruled that the sweeping tariffs Trump imposed on most imports are unlawful. When slapping tariffs on more than 100 countries, Trump justified the move by invoking the International Emergency Economic Powers Act, claiming that the U.S. trade deficit constituted a national emergency. However, the court ruled otherwise and halted most of his tariff regime. But on Thursday, an appeals court paused the ruling, pending arguments.

Navarro took questions from reporters outside the White House on Thursday, where he slammed the trade court judges, one of whom Trump appointed.

“This has gotta stop, by the way, this weaponization of the judiciary to stop President Trump from doing what he promised,” Navarro said. “This has gotta stop. The people of America have the lowest level of confidence in the American judiciary they’ve had in a hundred years, and it’s getting close to what they think about Congress. And that’s a low bar to hit.”

White House Correspondent Andrew Feinberg of The Independent asked if Trump officials’ attacks might be influencing public opinion.

“How much of that is just, every time you get a court decision you don’t like, you and your colleagues come out here and rail against ‘rogue’ judges?” the reporter inquired.

“See, wait, who is this guy?!” Navarro interrupted. “Tell me who you are, Sir.”

“I’m Andrew Feinberg,” he replied. “I work for The Independent.”

“Ok, so that is such a biased question,” Navarro insisted. “That is not a journalist question. That was like an op-ed, Sir. So, I’m not even  gonna respond to that.”
