WATCH: News Anchor Fired for Being ‘Unprofessional’ Blasted ‘B*tch’ Boss On Camera
Fired news anchor Taryn Asher was seen calling her supervisor a “b*tch” and venting she was “so done” with the drama at her station in an unearthed behind-the-scenes clip of her recording a promo.
Asher — who was an anchor at Fox 2 in Detroit until she was yanked off the air in November 2025 — fumed as she bickered with her boss in the video, which was published by Deadline Detroit on Saturday. The boss could be heard off-camera telling Asher to let her finish what she was trying to say, before apparently walking away following the brief-but-testy exchange.
“Go ahead!” Asher shouts as the supervisor walked out.
“B*tch!” Asher then let out. “Jeez, Oh Pete”
The anchor looked ahead at the camera with her mouth agape for a few seconds before a coworker asked her “what the hell” was going on. Asher threw up her hands in disgust.
“Can I please finish what I’m going to say? What the f*ck! Grow up,” Asher vented.
She then griped a bit more to a coworker who came up to help her with her microphone.
“I am so done with her antics, telling on me every 5 seconds,” Asher said. “I’m done!”
The incident reportedly led to Asher receiving a warning and a notice of suspension in December 2023. Asher was pulled from her anchor role last year — which included hosting several nightly newscasts during the week — but recent court documents show the station sent her a termination letter on May 28 of this year.
Asher and Fox 2 are now locked in a legal battle, with the station claiming in a court filing she was fired for cause due to her “unprofessional workplace behavior and outbursts,” according to The Detroit Free Press.
She filed a sexual discrimination lawsuit against the station in June, claiming she was treated worse than one of her male colleagues and fired when she griped about it. Asher then filed an updated lawsuit in July, aiming to allow her to go work for one of Fox 2’s local rivals.
