News Anchor Loses It When He’s Asked ‘Do You Think You Could Eat Beaver?’

It’s a question you don’t expect to be asked at work, to say the least.

Good Day Detroit co-anchor Ryan Ermanni couldn’t stop himself from cracking up live on air on Thursday when his morning show colleague Deena Centofanti asked him, “Do you think you could eat beaver?”

The double entendre-laced question — which Mediaite will not be explaining — made Ermanni start wheezing as he put his head down into his hands and went into a full-blown laugh attack. “Ohhh God,” he let out.

They got onto the topic a few minutes earlier when Centofanti was talking about how much she loved the show Alone, a History Channel program where contestants have to fend for themselves outdoors in a quest to win $500,000; Centofanti and co-anchor Derek Kevra discussed how the contestants have to survive by catching and eating wildlife, including beavers.

“The beavers are huge!” Centofanti marveled.

The unintentional innuendos kept coming from there, with Centofanti telling Ermanni the secret is to be “looking for the fat in the beaver.” She added, “the beaver is the most sought after.”

“It is,” Kevra wryly said, as he pointed at Centofanti.

By that point, Ermanni was already beginning to lose it, and then Centofanti sent him over the edge by asking the big beaver eating question.

Ermanni needed a moment to gather himself after all that.

“Yeah, I don’t know, I don’t know anything,” he said as he regained his composure. “But you are really funny. You are a funny gal.”

Ermanni later shared the clip on social media, and Centofanti quipped on her Facebook page “you learn stuff” while watching Alone. Apparently her coworkers filled her in on the term’s other meaning.

Centofanti ended the segment on Thursday morning by telling the show’s loyal viewers the hosts wanted to hear their thoughts on the matter. If you feel like calling the station and telling them if you could eat beaver, the number is 248-552-5153.
