Former President Donald Trump agreed to an interview with the FBI regarding his attempted assassination earlier in the month, reported NBC News on Monday.

The so-called victim interview “Trump would be consistent with any interview the bureau would conduct for any victim of crime under any circumstances,” an official said to NBC.

The FBI has already conducted hundreds of interviews into the July 13th shooting, in which a gunman fired eight rounds at the GOP’s 2024 presidential nominee, killing one rally-goer and critically injuring another. Trump’s ear was grazed by what investigators so far believe was a bullet as the shooter came shockingly close to the former president.
“FBI Deputy Director Paul Abbate said Monday that the bureau had been working around the clock on the investigation and that while the bureau typically does not share regular updates about ongoing investigations, FBI officials felt doing so here was important for the American public,” noted NBC News of the ongoing investigation, which has yet to understand the shooter’s motive.
