LISTEN LIVE: Supreme Court Hears Historic Case On Whether Colorado Can Remove Trump from Ballot

On Thursday at 10 a.m. ET, the U.S. Supreme Court will hear arguments in the historic case which will determine whether former President Donald Trump can be removed from the ballot in Colorado.

In December, Colorado’s Supreme Court ruled that the former president would be banned from the presidential primary ballot in the state — citing Section 3 of the 14th Amendment of the Constitution which states:

“No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof.”

Court will convene at 10 a.m., but oral arguments are expected to begin at approximately 10:20 — with attorney Jonathan F. Mitchell, who is representing the former president, slated to go first.
