Vivek Ramaswamy Says GOP Concern for Israel Driven by ‘Financial and Corrupting Influence,’ Accuses Nikki Haley of Seeking to Get ‘Wealthy’ Off War

GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy used an anti-Semitic trope to explain the Republican Party’s concern for Israel in the wake of a terrorist attack by Hamas that left hundreds dead and saw others kidnapped and raped over the weekend.

During an interview with Tucker Carlson on Tuesday, Ramaswamy lamented that his competition for the nomination were “ignoring the interests of the U.S. right here at home” as well as other conflicts around the world.

“It is wrong what happened to Israel, and I call that out as a human being and as somebody who’s on a belief of some people are on the right side and the wrong side of a conflict. I think that is far clearer here than it is, for example, in the Russia-Ukraine conflict or other areas where people have baked that cake,” said Ramaswamy. “But the selective nature of ignoring certain other conflicts, while even more importantly ignoring the interests of the U.S. right here at home is what irritates the heck out of me.”

His explanation for what he implied was a “shameful” and disproportionate focus on the rape, kidnapping, and murder of Jew for the crime of being Jews was “that there are, frankly, financial and corrupting influences that lead them exactly to speak the way they do.”

“That’s just the hard truth,” added Ramaswamy who said that the reaction to the death and destruction in Israel reflected a “selective moral outrage.”

“Open that Pandora’s Box around the world. I mean, look at much of Africa, look elsewhere, you’re gonna find ability to have selective moral outrage, but you only hear about it in certain selective cases that the media and the existing establishment in both parties deem fit for the American public,” he argued.

While discussing Nikki Haley’s call for Israel to wipe out Hamas, which Carlson described as a child-like tantrum, Ramaswamy also suggested she had a pecuniary interest in war.

“I think that Nikki Haley, I disagree with you a little bit there. I don’t think she’s a child, I think that she is somebody that like many politicians in a position to get wealthier from war,” he submitted.
