So is it all an act?
Charles Hurt — opinion editor of the Washington Times — seems to think President Donald Trump might intentionally be crafting a reputation as a loose cannon. Appearing on Outnumbered, Hurt went so far as to say that Trump acting like a “madman” might actually be an act of…well…we’ll let him tell you.
“I think it’s genius the way he kind of comes off as a little bit of the madman,” Hurt said. “And if you’re negotiating with someone like [North Korean leader] Kim Jong-un or Iran, having them really think ‘This guy might be nuts’ is a good thing.”
Outnumbered panelist Lisa Boothe, for one, seemed to think Hurt was on to something.
“And that’s what President Trump had promised us, right? Because on the campaign trail, he said that he wanted to be intentionally vague, because he didn’t want to tip off his hat of what we were going to do as a country in dealing with some of these rogue nations.”
If you say so…
