Connecticut Gov. to Ban State-Funded Travel to Indiana over ‘Religious Freedom’ Bill

It’s a governor-off!

In a sign that the battle over Indiana’s new “religious freedom” bill is increasing, Connecticut Governor Dan Malloy (D) tweeted Monday morning his intent to ban state-funded travel to Indiana:

Connecticut will join the cities of San Francisco and Seattle, both of which announced over the weekend they would prohibit state-funded travel to Indiana.

Indiana Governor Mike Pence (R) signed the bill last week and quickly found himself on the defensive from accusations the law would legitimize discrimination. The NCAA expressed concern over its upcoming finals series, while Angie’s List nixed an expansion deal in Indianapolis; meanwhile, Apple CEO Tim Cook decried the law in a Washington Post op-ed.
