Conor McGregor Arrested in NYC, Charged With Assault After Wild Rampage (VIDEO)
Mixed martial arts star Conor McGregor has not participated in sanctioned combat since his August 2017 boxing match with Floyd Mayweather. But on Friday, McGregor was arrested by the NYPD for an act of combat that was most decidedly unsanctioned.
According to multiple reports, the UFC fighter has been charged with assault and criminal mischief for his alleged role in an attack on a bus at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center.
In a video of the wild rampage, posted above via TMZ Sports, McGregor can be seen smashing a bus window with a dolly. He and an entourage of approximately 20 others are said to have participated in the attack — which resulted in two fighters, Michael Chiesa and Ray Borg, having to be pulled from Saturday night’s card at the Barclays Center due to injuries sustained in the attack.
Speaking with reporters after the incident, UFC president Dana White slammed McGregor and the others allegedly involved.
“Obviously, everybody’s shaken up,” White said. “This is the most disgusting thing that has ever happened in the history of the company.”
White added, “The police are going to take care of Conor. The police are going to handle Conor.”
