Dutch Police Arrest Teen Girl for Tweeting Al Qaida Threat at American Airlines
Sometimes the worst thing that happens when you go viral is you get embarrassed. Occasionally, you can get fired. But if you go viral for tweeting a (presumably?!?!1?!) joke al Qaida threat at a major airline, you can get arrested.
A 14-year-old from the Netherlands was arrested Monday after she allegedly tweeted a terrorist threat at American Airlines on Sunday. The airline did not respond with the jocular attitude she expected:
Her account is now totes suspended, though that may be the least bad thing to happen to her today:

Dutch authorities told Business Insider the tweet’s viral reach led them to seek out the girl:
We’re not in a state that we can communicate any state of charges at this point. We just thought it was necessary to bring this out mostly because of the fact that it caused a great deal of interest on the Internet.
