Ex-WH Comms Director on Trump’s ‘Cheatin’ Obama’ Tweet: ‘Might Be Racial Undertones There’
President Donald Trump was once again on a Twitter tirade this morning, tossing out commentary about Sinclair, ‘Fake News,’ Mexico, caravans of immigrants, and Amazon. He also targeted his predecessor with his rage-tweets, highlighting a recent Rasmussen poll that had his approval rating at 50 percent, pointing out that it was “higher than Cheatin’ Obama at the same time in his Administration.”
Thank you to Rasmussen for the honest polling. Just hit 50%, which is higher than Cheatin’ Obama at the same time in his Administration.

Considering that this was the first time he’d tagged former President Barack Obama with this descriptor, there were questions on what brought this about and why he felt the former president was a cheater. During an appearance on CNN’s The Lead, a former Obama administration official indicated racism may have something to do with POTUS’s remarks.
“I don’t know what he’s referring to,” anchor Jake Tapper said. “That’s an interesting thing to bring up during the Stormy Daniels saga. Certainly.”
Tapper then asked ex-White House communications director Jen Psaki what she thought about the president’s tweet.
“Given Trump’s history, you can guess that there might be racial undertones there,” Psaki replied. “He was the founder of the birther movement. Perhaps I’m going to a very evil place with that but history tells us that’s a possibility.”
“Do you think he’s saying because he’s black he cheats?” Tapper asked, stating that he wasn’t quite sure what Trump was getting at with the tweet.
She noted that there are “lots of possibilities” and without “the context of his history,” she never would have gone that route. “But I think it’s a possibility,” she added.
