A commercial airliner was forced to make an emergency landing in Mogadishu, Somalia, after an explosion tore a hole in the fuselage, sucking one passenger out of the cabin to their death.
Two other passengers were injured in the explosion and the body of the passenger ejected from the plane was believed to have been found near Mogadishu, CNN reported.
U.S. government officials told Reuters that investigators believe a bomb caused the explosion.
Some reports suggested an oxygen bottle might have been involved, but safety experts say such bottles usually catch fire rather than explode. Photographs did not show significant damage to overhead panels where such bottles are usually kept.
