Fox’s Cavuto Confronts GOP Rep. Andy Biggs Over Warmbier: ‘You Don’t Think Trump is ‘Too Trusting of Pretty Bad Guys?’

Neil Cavuto of Fox News took a conservative congressman to task over President Donald Trump absolving North Korean leader Kim Jong Un of responsibility in the death of Otto Warmbier.

On Friday’s edition of Your World, Cavuto confronted Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ) after the congressman said he’s not sure what Trump knows about Kim Jong Un and Warmbier.

“[Trump] believed Kim Jong Un, right?” Cavuto said. “Just like he believed and trusted Vladimir Putin when Putin argued that he had no interference or role in our presidential election. Do you think he accepts at face value, people who are known liars?”

Cavuto added, “You’d be hard-pressed that [Kim] wouldn’t know something about a high-profile American who’s in their country and being abused in that country.”

Biggs, despite the pointed question, refused to criticize Trump for taking the word of Kim Jong Un. Cavuto pressed.

“You don’t think the president’s too trusting of pretty bad guys?” Cavuto said.

“I don’t think he’s naive,” Biggs said. “Here’s why I think that. The fact that he would just walk away from that negotiation, I think, indicates pretty clearly that if he feels like something is not going the way it should, he’s not afraid to just walk away.”
