Senator John Kennedy (R- LA) knocked Democrats today over the investigations into President Donald Trump, but he conceded that Republicans would do the same if the situation was reversed.
“I think some of my House Democratic colleagues are in good faith. I think some of them aren’t,” he said. “I think they just want to start the 2020 election early, and I regret that.”
Kennedy added that he’s not saying they’re not within their rights, noting, “I’m sure there are some members of my party that would do the same thing if the shoe were on the other foot.”
But he still decried the “scorched-earth, blood sport” politics at play.
Trump himself blasted the investigations this morning:
Now that they realize the only Collusion with Russia was done by Crooked Hillary Clinton & the Democrats, Nadler, Schiff and the Dem heads of the Committees have gone stone cold CRAZY. 81 letter sent to innocent people to harass them. They won’t get ANYTHING done for our Country!
