‘They Think We Are All So Stupid!’ TMZ’s Harvey Levin Laces Into Dems for Deflecting Tough Questions With Trump Rants

TMZ’s Harvey Levin ripped into Democrats for trying to deflect tough questions about their own party by ranting about President Donald Trump instead.

Speaking in a video posted to YouTube Thursday, Levin said voters can see right through politicians when they refuse to answer questions, and laced into the tactic of failing to answer, asking, “How are politicians so dumb that they don’t think we can see right through them?”

He pointed specifically to recent primary wins, which showed progressive candidates like Abdul El-Sayed win over Rep. Haley Stevens (D-MI) in Michigan and David Crowley edge out Democratic Socialist Francesca Hong in the Wisconsin governor’s race.

“I’ve been watching uh the winners of the primaries in the last couple of weeks,” Levin said, adding:

The socialists who were so strong on their positions before the election are now courting mainstream Democrats and now they’re waffling on their big socialist ideas. The moderate Democrats who won and scoffed at the big socialist ideas are now courting social democrats and now they too are hedging about those ideas.

And by the way, I am not calling socialist progressives because moderate Democrats consider themselves to be progressive. They should call themselves what they are. The socialists are the left wing of the Democrat party. Just say what they are. Say what you mean.

And that is the point here. That’s the point I’m trying to make. That virtually none of these politicians do that. When they’re asked, when they’re asked a tough question, they deflect outright or just ignore and go on to a diatribe about Donald Trump.

They think we are all so stupid that we don’t know that they’re not answering the question. Well, we do know. This is a messed up part of politics.

You have all these, all these political consultants who give politicians talking points that they can use when a question gets too hard or too dicey, a question that might piss off the voters that they’re courting.

So rather than being authentic and honest, they deflect, which is not honest at all. Deflecting is not honest. Not answering the question is not honest.

Now I’ve interviewed countless politicians who just won’t answer legitimate questions. And they’re banking on journalists to just give up and move on.

Well, journalists do eventually just move on, but the voters see right through it. And I think this is a huge reason why people don’t respect politicians.

And by the way, this does not just apply to Democrats. You ask most Republicans about affordability and what they answer is hilariously disingenuous.
