Grok Sides With CNN Reporter Debunking Trump’s Election Claims: ‘They Do Not Contain Evidence’

Even Grok, Elon Musk’s xAI chatbot, sided with CNN’s Zachary Cohen in rebutting President Donald Trump’s Thursday election fraud claims, writing that the declassified documents cited “do not contain evidence” that foreign interference or fraud actually changed the outcome of any past election.

Trump’s address to the nation was centered around, in his words, “the largest compromise of election data in history.” According to him, during the 2020 election cycle, China allegedly acquired “220 million U.S. voter files,” including “names, addresses, phone numbers, political party preferences, and other sensitive data.”

The president vowed that documents proving his case and “gathered by the White House Government Transparency Task Force” would be released online “starting tonight.”

Cohen wrote via X on Thursday that “CNN has reviewed all” of the documents Trump mentioned, adding that they “largely discuss vulnerabilities that have been known for years and/or are reflected in the 2021 US intel community assessment.”

He continued, “None of the declassified information supports the claim that any previous election results — including the 2020 presidential contest that Trump lost — were manipulated by foreign interference or fraud in a way that would’ve changed the outcome.”

After an X user asked Grok to evaluate Cohen’s statement, the chatbot responded:

Cohen’s claim is accurate. The declassified documents detail longstanding vulnerabilities in voting systems and foreign data access capabilities (e.g., China obtaining voter records), consistent with prior assessments. They do not contain evidence that foreign interference or fraud successfully manipulated results to change any past election outcome, including 2020. The focus is on known risks and future mitigation.

As Senator Mark Warner (D-VA) pointed out Thursday on MS NOW, ironically, Trump’s own appointees, mainly CIA Director John Ratcliffe, “were in charge of the intelligence community” in 2020, adding, “Why didn’t they find any of this?” and making the salient point that “you can buy these voter files.”
