Huh? Pruitt Reportedly Had an Aide Help Look Into Getting an Old Trump Hotel Mattress

In the ongoing scrutiny surrounding EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt, there are new developments today on what an aide looked into for him.

Milann Hupp recently spoke to congressional investigators, and per the New York Times, some of it concerned the work she did for Pruitt on her own time:

According to a partial transcript released by Democrats on the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, Ms. Hupp worked with real estate agents and visited at least 10 apartments over more than a month to find Mr. Pruitt new lodging. She also did other personal errands for the administrator including booking his personal travel to the Rose Bowl college football game.

But stranger still is the part concerning the mattress the EPA chief wanted her to look into:

Asked about an email to the managing director of the Trump International Hotel in Washington, Ms. Hupp said, “I do not recall sending this email, but I do recall there being discussions about the possibility of securing an old mattress from the Trump Hotel.”

Ms. Hupp told investigators the interaction occurred around the time that Mr. Pruitt moved apartments. She said she did not remember more of the interaction, including whether a mattress was ever purchased.

Yes, a used mattress from Trump International Hotel.

And if you dare doubt the power of “there’s a tweet for everything,” behold:
