Lawrence O’Donnell Presses Stormy Daniels’ Lawyer on ‘Images’ of Alleged Trump Tryst
Stormy Daniels‘ lawyer Michael Avenatti told Lawrence O’Donnell that he isn’t at liberty to speak about many of the things that his client agreed to in an agreement with Trump attorney Michael Cohen and, potentially, President Donald Trump himself, but the presence of certain stipulations raised eyebrows.
O’Donnell highlighted a few pieces of specific information in the agreement, including that Daniels had to “divest herself of any and all artistic media, impressions, paintings, video images, still images, e-mail messages, text messages, Instagram message, Facebook posting, or any other type of creation by DD [David Dennison, Trump’s alias for the agreement].”
“Did she have any video images or still images created by Donald Trump?” O’Donnell asked.
“That’s a question that my client will answer at the appropriate time if she’s ever permitted to talk and give her side of the story,” Avenatti replied.
Avenatti also railed against White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders for saying that the president won a case against Daniels in arbitration, when in reality it appears that Cohen merely got a temporary restraining order prohibiting her from speaking, which would also be void if Daniels’ case is won.
“I personally like Ms. Sanders. I think she has a near impossible job,” he said. “I’m confident she didn’t know it was nonsense when she effectively told that to the world. But it’s absolutely bogus. It’s nonsense.”
O’Donnell also brought up that the agreement prohibits “all private information relating to or pertaining to Donald Trump, including… paternity information.”
“Are you aware of your client having anything to say about paternity information involving Donald Trump?” A visibly intrigued O’Donnell asked Avenatti.
“Again, Lawrence, when my client is provided the opportunity to speak freely and honestly and openly to the American people, I don’t think she’s going to hold back,” he said.
