Netanyahu Responds to ‘Chickensh*t’ Attack from Unnamed U.S. Official

A report yesterday quoted an anonymous Obama administration official calling Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu “chickenshit” (along with some other choice phrases White House officials have used to describe him). And today, Netanyahu fired back, insisting everything he does is in the best interests of the state of Israel.

This anonymous official argued that Netanyahu’s biggest concern is maintaining political power and clinging to his own relevance. Netanyahu said today that he is first and foremost concerned with the Israeli people’s safety and security, and is “not prepared to make concessions that will endanger our state.”

Netanyahu did not address the specific comments made against him, but mentioned “anonymous elements that are attacking us and me personally.” And he made it clear that he believes the attacks are coming “only because I am defending the state of Israel.”
