MS NOW National Security Reporter Warns Trump ‘Looks Unsteady’ as an Israeli Ally Ahead of Netanyahu Meeting

President Donald Trump is on the verge of appearing as an “unsteady” ally ahead of a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, said MS NOW’s National Security Reporter David Rohde Monday. Trump and Netanyahu are scheduled to meet at the White House Tuesday, July 28.

“This meeting is more important for Bibi Netanyahu than it is for Donald Trump,” said Rohde, “‘and I think Trump is sort of an albatross. I mean, he he went forward with this Saudi nuclear deal, which I think surprised many Israelis. And Israelis, for understandable reasons, don’t want Saudi Arabia to have the ability to enrich uranium, which without which they could possibly, with no inspections, use to create a nuclear weapon.”

He continued, “So I just think that that Netanyahu, from an Israeli political perspective, was like, ‘I brought Trump along, we’re going to take care of Iran.’ And all this is unraveling. And Trump looks unsteady as an ally towards Israelis. And and I would just agree with Chris, Trump looks weak in the region. He looks erratic. The memes look desperate. And, all of this is, again, I think just going to encourage Iran to wait him out, and pressure him … as the midterms approach.”

The meeting will mark the sixth have held in the White House since Trump’s second term in office began. The president is also set to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and both men will attend the funeral for Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) in D.C. before his remains are sent to South Carolina.

Trump and Netanyahu are likely to discuss the ongoing war with Iran, which is currently paused. Per CNBC, who spoke to an anonymous source about the meeting, the president will also discuss the trilateral agreement in place with Israel and Lebanon.

“I am heading out now to a meeting with our friend, President Donald Trump—this is our eighth meeting since he was elected to his second term, more than with any other international leader. This is a great honor, and it is also a great responsibility,” Netanyahu wrote on X today. “In our meeting, we will discuss all the issues on the table, with Iran at the forefront. Our goal is clear: to safeguard Israel’s security, strengthen its power, and expand the circle of peace around us.”

He added, “I am embarking on this mission out of a deep commitment to ensure the security, strength, and future of the State of Israel. During the visit, I will also pay my last respects to a true friend of mine and of the State of Israel, Senator Lindsey Graham—one of Israel’s greatest friends of all time.”
