Report: Women’s March Organizers Arrested for Civil Disobedience Outside Trump’s NY Hotel

A number of organizers of an International Women’s Day march taking place outside Trump International hotel in New York City have reportedly been arrested for civil disobedience.
According to TIME reporter Charlotte Alter, march organizers Tamika Mallory, Linda Sarsour, Carmen Perez, and Bob Bland were all taken into custody Wednesday afternoon.

According to the The Hollywood Reporter, a march spokesperson said that 10 organizers were arrested in all.
“Today, the national leaders of the Women’s March on Washington gathered with allies and those participating in the day’s actions for a show of solidarity and revolutionary love,” a rep for the Women’s March organization said in a statement given to The Hollywood Reporter. “After a peaceful protest in New York City in honor of A Day Without a Woman, 10 organizers were arrested by the New York City Police Department in an act of civil disobedience.”
Per The Hollywood Reporter, the NYPD has not yet confirmed the charges, or the identities of those placed under arrest.
