Romney Takes to Twitter to Call Out NY Times Reporter
Pro-tip: don’t mis-paraphrase former GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney, or you’ll hear about it on the Twitterz.
On Sunday morning, Meet the Press host David Gregory quoted a post by Talking Points Memo’s Josh Marshall that argued Russia’s geopolitical potency was significantly lesser than it appeared. The New York Times’ Helene Cooper said the piece might have been an implicit response to Romney, recalling when the former candidate had “said that Russia, remember, was our number one strategic threat back during the campaign.”
Romney had some notions about that crack:
Helene Cooper says I called Russia "our # 1 strategic threat." No. I called Russia our "geopolitical adversary" & Iran our # 1 threat. #MTP
