Trump Responds to SC Justice: ‘THE SECOND AMENDMENT WILL NEVER BE REPEALED!’

President Donald Trump fired back at John Paul Stevens on Twitter Wednesday morning, after the former Supreme Court Justice called for the repeal of the Second Amendment in a New York Times op-ed.

“THE SECOND AMENDMENT WILL NEVER BE REPEALED!” Trump wrote. “As much as Democrats would like to see this happen, and despite the words yesterday of former Supreme Court Justice Stevens, NO WAY. We need more Republicans in 2018 and must ALWAYS hold the Supreme Court!”

In the op-ed, the Justice — who retired from the court in 2010 — said gun control supporters should “should demand a repeal of the Second Amendment,” and railed against the 2008 Court decision that affirmed the individual right to bear arms.
