Tucker on Comey-Flynn Bombshell: ‘What You Think Is Happening Often Really Isn’t Happening’
In the aftermath of yet another stunning piece of news related to the president’s possible ties to Russia — this one being the report that President Donald Trump asked then-FBI Director James Comey to back off investigating ex-National Security Advisor Michael Flynn — Fox News’s Tucker Carlson knew just who to focus on.
The media, of course.
At the top of this evening’s Tucker Carlson Tonight, Carlson took aim at CNN for the way they covered the news earlier today. The Fox News host criticized Kate Bolduan for hitting back at a Trump supporter — Carl Higbie — over his skepticism about anonymous sources.
“‘Skeptical,’ says the retired Navy SEAL,” Tucker noted. “‘Be quiet,’ screams the 33-year-old news anchor, clapping her hands in rage.”
(One wonders what Bolduan’s age has to do with anything, especially since Carlson was in his early 30s when CNN made him co-host of Crossfire.)
The Fox News host went on to say that much of what we’re seeing reported may not actually be the truth or what’s real.
“The world is a very complicated place,” he noted, “Washington especially. What you think is happening often really isn’t happening.”
He then added that a lot of people want to get rid of the president in Washington and suggested that making Russia an enemy when just a few years ago they “were considered harmless” could be one of the ways to achieve that.
