Two More Women Accuse Sen. Al Franken of Groping: ‘I Was Completely Mortified’
Sen. Al Franken (D-MN) is facing two more accusations of sexual misconduct on the eve of Thanksgiving.
One of the accusers claims Franken groped while posing for a photo at June 2007 event, in a manner similar to what has been alleged by Lindsay Menz — a previous Franken accuser.
“My story is eerily similar to Lindsay Menz’s story,” said the woman, who asked Huffington Post to remain anonymous out of fear that she will be harassed online for making the claim. “He grabbed my buttocks during a photo op.”
The accuser said she came forward because she wanted to expose a man that she considers to be a “serial groper.”
“Only two people have come forward, and people are saying that this is a right-wing conspiracy,” the woman said. “It’s not. I’m a liberal person… I voted for him after this happened.”
The second woman alleges that Franken not only “cupped” her behind, he tried to get her to visit the bathroom with him.The woman says she was “completely mortified” after the alleged incident.
“My immediate reaction was disgust,” the second accuser said.
These allegations follow two others that emerged in recent weeks. Along with Menz, radio news anchor Leann Tweeden accused him of forcibly kissing her during their USO trip to Afghanistan in 2006 and groping her breasts while she was sleeping as he posed for a picture.
