Amanda Knox is the American college student who had been found guilty of a 2007 sexual assault and murder of her roommate Meredith Kercher by an Italian court. She and her fellow convicted accomplice Raffaele Sollecito have filed an appeal with the Italian court to overturn their conviction and sentencing of 26 and 25 years in prison. The prosecution, however, has used the appeal process to argue that they should each receive life sentences for their alleged actions.
