White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders will hold a briefing today, expected to take place at 2:00 pm ET.
There’s little doubt there will be questions about the ongoing Trump legal team drama, particularly concerning the admission President Trump dictated that infamous statement on DOn Jr.’s Trump Tower meeting.
Last year, during her August 1st briefing, Huckabee Sanders was asked about that statement and had the following exchange over it:
Q: Sarah, according to the Washington Post, the President tried to change the narrative of what went down in Don Jr.’s meeting with the Russian lawyer. Can you address that story and tell us, did the President really try to do that?
SANDERS: Look, the statement that Don Jr. issued is true. There’s no inaccuracy in the statement. The President weighed in as any father would, based on the limited information that he had…
Q: Can you clarify the degree to which the President weighed in?
SANDERS: He certainly didn’t dictate, but he––like I said, he weighed in, offered suggestion like any father would do.
The letter from the Trump legal team says the President did dictate it.
The briefing today will also likely touch on the latest negotiations with North Korea, the big Supreme Court decision on Masterpiece Cakeshop, and the President’s belief that he has the power to pardon himself.
As has been stated by numerous legal scholars, I have the absolute right to PARDON myself, but why would I do that when I have done nothing wrong? In the meantime, the never ending Witch Hunt, led by 13 very Angry and Conflicted Democrats (& others) continues into the mid-terms!
