WATCH: Passenger Gives Harrowing Account of Southwest Flight Engine Explosion That Left One Dead

The NTSB has confirmed that one person was killed in the Southwest flight that had to make an emergency landing after an engine explosion.

One passenger from the flight has provided a harrowing account of what happened. Marty Martinez spoke to CBSN and said, “First there was an explosion and almost immediately, the oxygen masks came down and, probably in a matter of 10 seconds, the engine then hit a window and busted it wide open.”

Flight attendants told everyone to brace for landing and Martinez––who reportedly briefly posted to Facebook Live––recalled, “I thought it was going to be our last few moments on earth.”

Martinez also described to CNN how one passenger was being sucked in the direction of a hole in the plane and how people were “from the back of the seat, holding onto her, you know, trying to keep her contained.”
