Vice President JD Vance’s widely reported “strategy session” at his home on Wednesday night to discuss the Trump administration’s response to the ongoing fallout around the Jeffrey Epstein case has elicited a response from Virginia Giuffre’s family.

Giuffre was one of Epstein’s most well-known victims, as she took both Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell — as well as Prince Andrew, whom she has long accused of sexual abuse — to court. Giuffre killed herself in April, and President Donald Trump recently acknowledged that he was aware that Epstein “stole” her from his Mar-a-Lago club, where she was employed in the early 2000s.

“We understand that Vice President JD Vance will hold a strategy session this evening at his residence with administration officials. Missing from this group is, of course, any survivor of the vicious crimes of convicted perjurer and sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell and Jeffrey Epstein,” Giuffre’s family said in a statement to MSNBC, adding:

Their voices must be heard, above all. We also call upon the House subcommittee to invite survivors to testify. As Virginia Roberts Giuffre’s siblings, we offer to represent her in her stead and we hope the administration takes our call to action seriously. Any information that may be released by the government should take into account the survivors who wish to remain anonymous, for their safety and well-being. They should be consulted first.

We reiterate that Ghislaine Maxwell should have remained in a maximum security prison and does not deserve the luxuries currently afforded her.

CNN first broke the news of Vance’s Epstein powwow on Tuesday night, reporting, “Top Trump administration officials will gather at the vice president’s residence Wednesday evening as they continue to weigh whether to publish an audio recording and transcript of Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche’s recent conversation with Jeffrey Epstein accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell.” ABC News and other outlets later confirmed the story, citing “sources familiar with the matter.”

Vance denied that the meeting was taking place on Wednesday.

“The CNN story is pure fiction. There was never a supposed meeting scheduled at the Vice President’s residence to discuss Epstein Strategy,” said William Martin, the communications director to the Vice President.
