Ex-ICE Chief Wildly Claims Mamdani Wants ‘Violence’ On NYC Streets For Political Gain

Jonathan Fahey, who briefly served as President Donald Trump’s acting ICE director during his first term, told Fox Business Network’s Mornings with Maria on Tuesday morning that he believes New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani (D) wants anti-ICE violence in the streets of New York for personal gain.

“That’s what he’s doing. He wants confrontations. He wants violence, because the Democrats have really used this to elevate their cause. And then they could blame it on ICE, and most of the media will take their side on it,” Fahey said, adding:

But if he was responsible, he would say, “Hey, I may not agree with the law, but it’s the law, and it should be followed, and I’m not going to stand in the way.” But instead, he — again, like you said — wants to stir things up, wants confrontation. And these ICE agents are not only following the law, they’re required to follow the law.

They’re required to enforce the law. And so is President Trump. So who’s wrong in this situation? You know, legally, I mean it’s really shameful, cynical, but he gets a political benefit, at least within his party, with this.

ICE launched operations in New York City on Monday after Mamdani had successfully lobbied Trump in previous months to stay out of the city.

Mamdani called for ICE to be abolished following yet another deadly shooting by agents earlier in the month.

“New York City stands with the Salgado family in demanding a full, independent investigation and real accountability. To the Salgado family and any immigrant family in this city living in fear: we grieve with you and we will continue to stand beside you in the pursuit of justice. Abolish ICE,” Mamdani said in early July of the shooting of Lorenzo Salgado Araujo in Houston.
