Controversial UFC Star Invokes Nazi Germany While Describing a MAGA Rally: ‘Could Definitely See How Hitler Happened’

Controversial UFC star Sean Strickland compared the MAGA movement to Nazi Germany while describing the atmosphere at President Donald Trump’s rallies.

Strickland, previously a Trump loyalist, has not shied away from voicing strong criticisms of the administration. The 35-year-old has called out the president for the war in Iran and the ongoing Jeffrey Epstein files debacle, even threatening to vote for a Democrat in the next election if he’s not satisfied with the direction of the party. Because of Strickland’s relationship with the president, it surprised some that he was not chosen for the fight card at UFC Freedom 250 at the White House. Instead, Strickland attended the event as a spectator before he was escorted out.

During a conversation on the popular podcast, The Shawn Ryan Show, Strickland claimed to have spoken to numerous “hardcore” Republicans who have turned on Trump over inflation fueled by the war. He then asked host Shawn Ryan if he’d ever been to a Trump rally before describing the experience:

Oh, dude, it’s f*cking nuts. So like, when you’re at a Trump rally, you’re like, “Oh, I could definitely see how Hitler happened.” Like I’m not even f*cking joking to you, dude. When you go to a Trump rally, it makes you question the sanity of everybody. Like, Trump’s up there talking about, like, “We’re going to throw people in jail for burning the flag.”

Again, you shouldn’t do it, but it’s like, you know there is a f*cking constitution. I’m looking at [Vivek Ramaswamy] and Vivek is just like f*cking rubbing his head, and he gets out and leaves the Trump rally, and I’m like, “Ah, f*ck.” And everybody else is just f*cking full send. “Yeah, f*ck them! Throw them in jail!” Like, if Trump said go grab a gun and go do anything, they would f*cking do it. They would f*cking do it.

Ryan added that the MAGA movement was a “cult.”

Just two years earlier, Trump and Strickland were very friendly with one another. Following controversy over an aggressively hateful, homophobic rant, Strickland was seen in Nevada posing for a photo op with Trump at the Republican Caucus. A few months later, Strickland used a post-fight interview to praise Trump and pledge money to his presidential campaign. The would-be president was in the audience.
