House Democrat Declares Media, Squad Must ‘Take Responsibility’ for Spreading ‘Dangerous Misinformation’ About Gaza Hospital Attack

Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D-FL) slammed the media and his Democratic colleagues in the House of Representatives for spreading “dangerous information” after an explosion at a hospital in the Gaza Strip war was erroneously reported to have been caused by an Israeli missile strike.
On Tuesday, the New York Times, Associated Press, and others ran stories lending credence to Hamas’ claims that the explosion killed 500 people and was the result of an Israeli attack. Since then, both Israeli and U.S. intelligence sources have indicated that the blast was actually caused by a misfired rocket launched by a terrorist group in Gaza.
In the meantime, Reps. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) and Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) released statements unequivocally condemning Israel.
“Israel just bombed the Baptist Hospital killing 500 Palestinians (doctors, children, patients) just like that. @POTUS this is what happens when you refuse to facilitate a ceasefire & help de-escalate,” wrote Tlaib. “Your war and destruction only approach has opened my eyes and many Palestinian Americans and Muslims Americans like me. We will remember where you stood.”

“Bombing a hospital is among the gravest of war crimes. The IDF reportedly blowing up one of the few places the injured and wounded can seek medical treatment and shelter during a war is horrific. @POTUS needs to push for an immediate ceasefire to end this slaughter,” declared Omar.

These posts prompted Moskowitz to ask his “democratic colleagues who blamed Israel” to “take down their posts.”
“PSA to my Democratic Colleagues: Believe Nothing Hamas says ever! ever! ever!” added Moskowitz, who reserved his harsher condemnation for the media.
“This journalist fail by immediately listening to HAMAS on the horrific Hospital incident before factual confirmation exposes the bias in the media who wanted Israel to be responsible,” wrote the first-term congressman, who later asserted that “The media must take responsibility for the dangerous misinformation they spread.”

Islamic Jihad launched the rocket from right behind the hospital. Horrible tragedy.
I condemn Islamic Jihad for killing innocent people.

Moskowitz also took the time to rebuke MSNBC’s Ayman Mohyeldin for casting doubt on Israel’s explanation for the explosion, writing “Dear Ayman. Friendly reminder. Hamas is a terrorist organization. Take official terrorist statements with a healthy dose of skepticism when reporting on what happens inside the earth.”
