‘I’m Not Going Anywhere’: Biden Calls In To Harris Campaign Rally and Vows To Help Defeat ‘Danger to the Country’ Donald Trump
President Joe Biden called into Vice President Kamala Harris’ 2024 presidential campaign rally on Monday and said he was “not going anywhere,” just one day after he announced he would be withdrawing from the 2024 presidential election.
“I know yesterday’s news was surprising and it’s a hard thing to hear, but it was the right thing to do,” President Biden told a group of Harris campaigners. “I think we made the right decision.”
He continued:
The name has changed the top of the ticket, but the mission hasn’t changed at all, and by the way, I’m not going anywhere. I’m gonna be out there on the campaign with her, with Kamala. I’m going to be working like hell, both as a sitting president getting legislation passed, as well as campaigning. You know, what we still need to save is democracy and Trump is still a danger to the community, he’s a danger to the nation.
Biden concluded, “I’m hoping you’ll give every bit of your heart and soul that you gave to me to Kamala, and I want you to know I won’t be on the ticket, but I’m still going to be fully, fully engaged. I’ve got six months left of my presidency, I am determined to get much done as I possibly can, both foreign policy and domestic policy.”
Urged by many Democrats, including more than 35 members of Congress, to drop out of the 2024 election amid reports of his “cognitive decline,” Biden announced his withdrawal on Sunday afternoon before proceeding to endorse Vice President Harris.
