Trump Says Elon Musk Was ‘Released’ on Stage at His Rally: ‘He Started Doing Jumping Jacks and Stuff Behind Me’
Former President Donald Trump recalled the time billionaire Elon Musk was “released” on stage at his rally and “started doing jumping jacks and stuff behind me,” Tuesday.
Speaking at a campaign rally in Grand Rapids, Michigan – which went on until the early hours of the morning – Trump recalled the moment Musk bizarrely jumped up and down at his October rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.
“When we had the celebration honoring Corey the firefighter, great guy, when we had that celebration, we had 101,000 people,” said Trump. “And that’s when I really got to see the real– that’s where I really got to see the real Musk.”
He continued:
I invited him up and he’s always, like, in a lab, and it’s almost like he was released, and I said, “You have to come up here, Elon. Just come up,” and he looked out and he was so happy. I think he loves people. And he started doing jumping jacks and stuff behind me, right? He was so happy. I think he’s gonna run for office against me. I’m very concerned. No, he’s great, it was great. But he was so happy and it was a great celebration.
Musk’s bizarre jumping was caught in several viral photographs, which show the billionaire in the air with his arms up and belly exposed.
The moment was mocked by Democratic vice presidential nominee Tim Walz, who criticized Musk for “jumping around, skipping like a dipshit.”
Trump praised Musk during a rally in Nevada last week, claiming, “In terms of computer, I would say he’s probably about as good as you get.”
