Fox Business’ Lou Dobbs Trashes ‘Phony’ Trey Gowdy: ‘He’s Never Done Anything!’

Fox Business’ Lou Dobbs had an odd target for his vitriol Friday on The Tom Shillue Show on Fox Radio – Representative Trey Gowdy (R-SC).

Gowdy announced his retirement from the House early in the year, and according to Dobbs, he’s been a “lame duck.”

“Trey Gowdy is [a] phony,” Dobbs said. “Think about it. He was in charge of Benghazi, he was in charge of various committees, but what did he do? Nothing! He’s never done anything!”

“No indictments, no charges, no revelations, nothing has ever happened except he gets to have some terrific moments as I think he did with Hillary Clinton,” he continued. “After 11 hours he just let her talk endlessly and never laid a glove on her. It was an amazing performance.”

“Let’s be fair to him,” Tom Shillue said, saying that Gowdy was working under the Obama administration.

“Because of the way he let Hillary off?” Dobbs quipped.

It’s a far cry from praise Dobbs was offering for Gowdy back in 2015:
