NY Jets QB Aaron Rodgers Takes a Jab at Chiefs TE Travis Kelce for Vaccine Ad: ‘Mr. Pfizer, We Kind of Shut Him Down’

New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers didn’t waste the opportunity to take a shot at Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce for starring in a vaccine commercial.

During his weekly appearance on The Pat McAfee Show on Tuesday, Rodgers was discussing the Jets’ Sunday night loss to the Chiefs. The Jets played the defending Super Bowl champions well, and limiting Kelce’s abilities as a dynamic playmaker – Rodgers noted – was crucial.

“I think there’s some sentiment that there’s some sort of moral victory out there that we hung with the champs and that our defense played well,” Rodgers said, “and [QB Patrick Mahomes] didn’t have a crazy game and Mr. Pfizer, we kind of shut him down a little bit. He didn’t have a crazy-impact game. Obviously, he had some yards; but I felt like for the most part, we played really tough on defense — especially the last three quarters.”

McAfee and former player A.J. Hawk immediately began laughing at the name as Rodgers continued to breakdown Sunday’s game with a slight grin on his face.

Rodgers has been a vocal skeptic of the vaccines. When commentator Keith Olbermann mocked Rodgers’ anti-vaccine views immediately after Rodgers tore his achilles, Rodgers fired back by pointing out how many booster shots people have gotten.

Rodgers isn’t the only one who’s taken issue with Kelce endorsing the flu and Covid-19 vaccine. Conservative commentators Megyn Kelly and Charlie Kirk recently expressed being “disturbed” by it.
