‘That’s Insane!’ Fan Makes Absolutely Incredible One-Handed Catch at Orioles Game

A fan briefly became the star of Camden Yards on Monday when he made an impressive catch of a foul ball during the Baltimore Orioles game.

At the top of the third inning, Cleveland Guardians first baseman Josh Naylor pulled a ball foul and it skied into the stands by right field. While it initially seemed like the ball would end up flying past the stands and out of the park, one fan stuck his arm up to snag it. Making the catch even more unlikely was the fact that he was the only person in that section.

Immediately after the catch, the man turned to face the crowd to bask in the moment with his arms outstretched. A noticeable roar could be hard from the fans in attendance.

“Josh Naylor whacks one down the line and way foul,” Orioles announcer Kevin Brown said, “and caught by the one guy up there who’s got a drink and a phone in his hand! What?!

“He just bare-handed it! That’s insane! He held onto the phone and the beverage! What is he doing out there by himself? Was he on the phone?”

Brown and analyst Dave Johnson joked that the man’s phone would soon be overwhelmed with notifications after the viral catch. He then checked his phone and seemingly confirmed that.

“Yeah, that phone’s buzzing now,” Johnson said.
