Trump Boasts That He Was ‘Unanimously’ Elected as New Chairman of Kennedy Center After Firing Dissenters on Board of Trustees

President Donald Trump reacted on Truth Social with joy after being elected by the Kennedy Center to lead the board of trustees as their chairman.

The board voted on Wednesday afternoon to install Trump as the chairman, solidifying his goal to introduce vast reforms to the institution. The news came after Deborah Rutter announced she was be departing as the center’s president.

Earlier this week, former acting director of national intelligence Ric Grenell was named by Trump as interim executive director of the Kennedy Center. According to the Washington Post, the appointment confused leadership at the Kennedy Center because the position does not exist.

Regardless, told his followers on Truth Social that “it is a great honor” to lead the board as the center’s chairman.

Trump wrote, “President Donald J. Trump was just unanimously elected Chairman of the Board of the prestigious Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. The President stated, ‘It is a Great Honor to be Chairman of The Kennedy Center, especially with this amazing Board of Trustees. We will make The Kennedy Center a very special and exciting place!'”

The new board of trustees is made of all Trump appointees after the White House terminated several Biden-appointed board members last week.
