Trump Runs for the Hills from Sidney Powell After She Copped a Plea: ‘NOT MY ATTORNEY, AND NEVER WAS’

Donald Trump
Former President Donald Trump panicked on Truth Social while attempting to disassociate himself from Sidney Powell, now that she has accepted a plea deal.
Powell pled guilty last week in the Georgia election crimes case in which Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis accused her, Trump, and 17 other co-defendants of conspiring to unlawfully overturn the former president’s 2020 defeat. Among the penalties stipulated by the plea deal, Powell will be required to testify at future trials related to the case, which could be damaging to Trump’s legal defense.
On Sunday, Trump got on social media to push his unproven claims about the “STOLLEN” election, but he did so while claiming Powell was never his lawyer.
“Sidney Powell was one of millions and millions of people who thought, and in ever increasing numbers still think, correctly, that the 2020 Presidential Election was RIGGED & STOLLEN, AND OUR COUNTRY IS BEING ABSOLUTELY DESTROYED BECAUSE OF IT!” Trump proclaimed.
Despite the Fake News reports to the contrary, and without even reaching out to ask the Trump Campaign, MS. POWELL WAS NOT MY ATTORNEY, AND NEVER WAS. In fact, she would have been conflicted. Ms. Powell did a valiant job of representing a very unfairly treated and governmentally abused General Mike Flynn, but to no avail. His prosecution, despite the facts, was ruthless. He was an innocent man, much like many other innocent people who are being persecuted by this now Fascist government of ours, and I was honored to give him a Full Pardon!
But contrary to that statement, in a 2020 tweet, the former president himself identified Powell as being part of his legal team.
“I look forward to Mayor Giuliani spearheading the legal effort to defend OUR RIGHT to FREE and FAIR ELECTIONS!” Trump tweeted in November 2020. “Rudy Giuliani, Joseph diGenova, Victoria Toensing, Sidney Powell, and Jenna Ellis, a truly great team, added to our other wonderful lawyers and representatives!”
Trump will also have to contend with the plea deal accepted by attorney Kenneth Chesebro, another defendant in the Georgia case.
