Press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders will hold a briefing today in the White House’s James S. Brady room to talk about the Trump Administration’s latest moves.
The briefing is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. EST.
The White House has launched a new attempt to gain momentum for tax reform, calling for third-party groups to aid and abet the administration’s push for an overhaul. Details behind any tax reform deal that could get through Washington’s bureaucracy remain murky, but the subject is certainly picking up media steam and can be expected to be a topic of discussion at today’s briefing.
Another key issue Sanders may address is the constantly growing hurricane news, as both Florida and Texas attempt to recover from Harvey and Irma — with help from the federal government. As South Florida attempts to get back on their feet, millions are still without power.
President Donald Trump also plans to talk with top Democrats Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi today, a bipartisan meeting that is sure to raise eyebrows and draw questions from the press corp. Trump’s dinner with new pals “Chuck and Nancy” is scheduled for tonight and table discussions will center around passing immigration reform, stabilizing Obamacare markets, and meeting end-of-the-year fiscal deadlines that are fast approaching.
