CNN’s Stelter on WH Hitting Wolff Book: They Get ‘Facts Wrong on an Almost Daily Basis’

Michael Wolff‘s Fire and Fury has been embraced for its stunning portrait of the Trump White House, but it hasn’t been without criticism over some sloppiness and factual errors.

On CNN this afternoon, Brian Stelter acknowledged how journalists should “hold each other to high standards” and invoked the errors that have already been spotted.

“The book itself,” he continued, “does hold up. And when you hear the White House trying to trash the book, we have to remember what a low standard they have for credibility and accuracy. This is a White House that gets the facts wrong on an almost daily basis.”

He pointed to false statements from the President made today and said, “They’ve got a very low standard, even though we need to maintain high standards.”
