CNN’s Toobin: ‘So Corrupt and Unethical’ for Giuliani to Make Those Comments About Pardons

CNN”s Jeffrey Toobin went off on Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani for his comments about potential pardons President Trump could issue once the Mueller probe is over.
Giuliani went ahead and just kind of casually threw out the idea of pardoning people today, saying, “When the whole thing is over, things might get cleaned up with some presidential pardons.”
Toobin told Wolf Blitzer Giuliani’s comments are pretty shocking:
“It is so corrupt and unethical what Giuliani said. You know, we are in an area here that is literally unprecedented, because not that many people in American life have the power to give a pardon, so the idea that you could dangle a pardon with the apparent intention of shortening an investigation or getting people not to cooperate––I mean, I think there are definitely people out there who think that alone is obstruction of justice and perhaps even an impeachable offense, if the President were to be involved in this. You know, we are so far out of normal ethical behavior that it’s just worth preserving our sense of outrage about it.”
Giuliani subsequently tried to clarify what he meant. Sort of:
Giuliani tells me he advised POTUS not to pardon anyone before Mueller probe ends & POTUS agrees. But pardons possible *after* Mueller probe
