RNC Chair Ronna McDaniel said on GMA this morning that the racism and bigotry on display in Charlottesville “has no place in the Republican party.”
“There is no home here,” she said. “We don’t want your vote, we don’t support you, we’ll speak out against you.”
McDaniel told ABC’s David Muir that there’s no question that “when it comes to Charlottesville, the blame lays squarely at the KKK and the white supremacists who organized this rally and put together an entire event around hate and bigotry.”
However, she did not directly criticize President Trump for his remarks, and when Muir asked her “So you disagree with the President?”, McDaniel responded, “I’m saying the President did the right thing condemning it.”
