Roy Moore delivered a brief statement tonight in response to the new allegations today from Beverly Nelson.
Nelson spoke out today alleging some seriously horrifying behavior from Moore, saying that when she was 16, “He began squeezing my neck to force my head on to his crotch. I continued to struggle. I was determined that I was not going to allow him to force me to have sex with him. I was terrified. I thought he was going to rape me. I was twisting and I was struggling and I was begging him to stop. I had tears running down my face.”
She even said that Moore signed her yearbook and showed off the yearbook with what looks like his signature inside.
But tonight, Moore denied knowing her at all:
“I want to make it perfectly clear. The people of Alabama know me, they know my character, they know what I’ve stood for in the political world for over 40 years. And I can tell you without hesitation, this is absolutely false. I never did what she said I did. I don’t even know the woman, I don’t know anything about her, I don’t even know where the restaurant is or was.”
He reiterated again this is all about politics, while his wife Kayla defended him as a “godly” man
